Two brothers alleged that people standing near Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard assaulted them after one of the victims took a photo of the NBA Rookie of the Year.

The brothers told Portland television station KGW that the suspects were Lillard's "entourage," but police said they hadn't determined whether they were associated with the player.

Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson said Lillard spoke with officers and "is not a suspect" in the assault. Simpson said the brothers had facial injuries and were treated at the scene after the scuffle early Saturday in a downtown nightlife district. They were not taken to a hospital.

The Blazers said they were aware of the incident and that based on preliminary reports, none of their players is considered a suspect in the case.
