At some point before the calendar flips from June to July, Utah should know whether or not it will have its starting quarterback moving forward.

A concussion — technically, an intracranial artery injury — sidelined Travis Wilson for the last three games of the 2013 season and led to questions as to whether he would ever play the game again. Wilson, though, was cleared to participate in spring practice, albeit in non-contact mode only.

A couple of months later, the timetable on a decision as to whether Wilson will be able to continue his playing career has been bumped up from next month to the current one. What that medical decision will be, though, remains the great unknown, even as Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham comes off as guardedly optimistic.
