McRoberts to start, Hansbrough comes off bench for Pacers

"Indiana Pacers power forward Tyler Hansbrough returned to the lineup as a reserve against the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

Pacers interim coach Frank Vogel said he'll bring Hansbrough, who had missed the previous two games with an illness, off the bench.

"Tyler's coming off of having pneumonia and he may be struggling with his wind, so we're going to see where he's at," Vogel said.

Another reason Vogel is sticking with Josh McRoberts, who had a career-high 20 points against Chicago on Saturday, is that he wants Hansbrough to provide a scoring punch off the bench.

McRoberts' blue-collar mentality fits better with the starters because there are already enough scoring options in that lineup.

Hansbrough will be the primary option in the low post with the second unit because Jeff Foster is not known for his scoring ability.

"One of the things we're going to do is we're going to turn our perceived weakness at the power forward position into a strength of ours," Vogel said. "I've got a great deal of belief in Tyler and Josh that they're going to own the power forward position.

"They're going to use their energy, their intensity, their passion, their speed, their athleticism to really make that a position of strength of ours. They're young, they're going to make mistakes, but they're going to make mistakes hard, going hard, and I can live with those mistakes.""
