"Dirk Nowitzki says he will play for Germany at the upcoming European Championship when Olympic berths will be at stake, but that appears to be the extent of his time abroad this summer. While Jordan Farmar and a host of other NBA players have already agreed to play abroad next season, Nowtizki said he won't follow the money outside the league and play elsewhere in event of an extended lockout.
Speaking to ESPN's Marc Stein, Nowitzki made it clear that despite the interest from teams with deep pockets abroad, he plans on heading back home to Dallas to rest following the Euro Championships.
"I'm going to play the Euros and then see where the lockout is after that," Nowitzki told Stein. "Until then, I'm not going to look at playing anywhere else."
Nowitzki isn't the only superstar player being courted by teams in Europe and the Far East. Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant have both been contacted by various basketball clubs to take their talents to China and Turkey, with a lengthy lockout looking like a definite possibility."
