"Vince Carter was hobbling around on crutches in the postgame locker room Monday after taking a bad step on the final play of the Mavericks' 73-70. Carter said he did not come down on anybody's foot. He simply "stepped wrong.''

"I was going right after I caught it and heard it pop,'' Carter said. "But it's not broken.''"
