"The pending lockout forced the Dallas Mavericks to act quickly when offering center Tyson Chandler a deal, but as Chandler told TrueHoop's Henry Abbott, the two sides "we might as well not have even met."

Apparently the Mavericks and Chandler were so far apart on a deal that it made no sense trying to come to an agreement prior before the league shut its doors. "We talked about getting something done before the lockout, but it just didn't happen. ... we were so far apart," Chandler said.

Following the Mavericks' first NBA title, Chandler remained noncommittal when asked about the chances of him making a return to the team for the 2011-12 season. What he did say, however, was that the team wouldn't get a hometown discount. Based on his play last season, there's no reason to believe Mark Cuban won't splash the cash for the big man."
