Shawn Marion was the only Maverick on the floor Thursday night that was on the team's 2011 NBA Finals roster. The Miami Heat, the team the Mavs defeated in six games that year, had eight players see playing time Thursday from their 2011 Finals roster.

The Heat are clearly a better team than their 2011 version and it showed at the American Airlines Center as Miami raced to a 31-20 first quarter lead before cruising to a 110-95 victory.

"It is what it is," Marion said. "We made changes and different situations and it is what it is. It's part of the business, man. It is frustrating to take a loss like that, especially on our home court."

The Mavericks shot 8-for-29 from the floor in the first quarter and 6-for-19 in the third, never allowing the Mavs to climb closer than 14 in the second half and fall behind by as many as 36.

"We had a lot of opportunities to make this a really good game," Marion said. "We had some great looks. They just wouldn't go in. It seemed like they were going in and coming out. When that's happening, it deflates you. It does take away from the defense because when you're making buckets, you get more aggressive. And we couldn't get nothing going really."

The Mavericks fell to 8-4 at home and the Heat improved to 5-4 on the road.
