"Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford watched from the sidelines as backups Shaun Hill and Drew Stanton took most of the reps during the Lions' final workout Wednesday before taking a five-day break for the bye week.

Stafford is resting a sprained right ankle he injured during the Lions' loss two weeks ago to Atlanta. He missed a practice last week but started in the Lions' 45-10 victory over Denver. There are no indications the injury will prevent him from missing the Lions' next game, Nov. 13, in Chicago."
