Matt Scott, a former University of Arizona quarterback who was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2014 and waived later that summer, took a shot at current Wildcats and former Xavier head basketball coach Sean Miller on Twitter in defense of Rich Rodriguez, fired by the university Tuesday night.

Scott followed a reply of "Miller wins...that's the difference" with "I'm sorry...wins what?" and "You don't get a trophy for an elite 8 appearance."

Scott's Tweet came before many of the details about Rodriguez and his dismissal emerged Wednesday morning, but he followed Wednesday afternoon with a Tweet suggesting that Miller might not deserve to be fired, but that the program paid players and Retweeted with an "OK" emoji a Tweet from someone else saying Miller was paying players.

Arizona (and former Xavier) assistant Book Richardson was one of 10 people arrested in late September in connection with the FBI investigation.

Richardson was accused of receiving $20,000 in bribes to lead current Wildcat players to a sports agent and used money to bribe recruits to play for Arizona.
