When the Minnesota Vikings went out and signed Josh Freeman this season to compete for the starting job, that’s exactly what we thought would happen. But whether it be Freeman’s terrible game against the New York Giants or whether it be that the Vikings never really wanted him in the first place and his signing was the doing of head coach Leslie Frazier, Freeman won’t be seeing the field this year again in a Vikings uniform unless an injury occurs.

On Monday Night Countdown, Adam Schefter reported that Matt Cassel will be the Vikings starter for the rest of the season barring an injury that would sideline him. The vote of confidence apparently comes after the Vikings saw Cassel’s performance in the last three games where he’s led the Vikings to a 2-1 record.
