Matt Cain, pitching for the first time since signing a six-year, $127.5 million contract a day earlier, gave up five hits and two runs as the Giants beat the A's 3-2 Tuesday night at O.co Coliseum in the second game of the Bay Bridge series.
Cain gave up a solo home run to Josh Reddick in the first inning and an RBI double to Yoenis Cespedes in the fourth but walked just one batter and struck out six over five innings in his final spring training tuneup. He finished the spring with a 4-0 record and a 2.10 ERA.
