"Montreal Canadiens head coach Jacques Martin says that the chance of Andrei Markov playing in October is, "out of the question" while the defenceman continues to rehab from knee surgery.

Martin told reporters on Tuesday that Markov's rehab is, "on schedule" and will continue under the supervision of Dr. James Andrews, who Markov saw on Monday in Florida. Markov will be seen by Dr. Andrews again by the end of the week.

Markov was unable to start the regular season while he continued to recover from ACL surgery on his right knee."
