With the long-term future of USF PG Anthony Collins unclear, the Bulls snagged some heralded backcourt insurance Sunday with the commitment of Marshall transfer Kareem Canty.

Canty's commitment was widely reported Sunday afternoon. Shortly thereafter, Canty tweeted: Usf !!!!!

Barring the approval of an NCAA waiver, Canty, who spent a season at Brandon's Faith Baptist Academy, must sit out the 2014-15 season as a Division I transfer. He'll reportedly have three years' eligibility remaining.

A Harlem native, Canty averaged 16.3 points and a team-best 5.5 assists as a freshman last season at Marshall, which finished 11-22.
