The surest thing the Cubs have had going for them the last few weeks, short man Carlos Marmol, finally yielded to the long ball.

After a career-high 19 straight saves, Marmol let one get away in the ninth inning Saturday against the Cardinals when Carlos Beltran hit a one-out fastball over the right field wall.

And that led to a 5-4 loss when Jaye Chapman walked two and allowed a Jon Jay RBI double in the 10th before a crowd of 40,298 at Wrigley Field.
