The Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals discussed "trade concepts" today for Giancarlo Stanton at the GM Meetings in Orlando, reported Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Miami has said that it wants to trade the slugger this offseason. Stanton still has 11 years, $295 million remaining on his contract, but he can opt out after the 2020 season.

The Red Sox reportedly have communicated with the Marlins as well.
