The good thing about an otherwise forgettable Marlins loss Saturday night was how they got the better of Jordan Zimmermann, arguably the National League's best pitcher of late. Sunday, those quality at-bats did not carry over against Stephen Strasburg.

Strasburg allowed three hits over six scoreless innings and pitched the Nationals to a series winning 4-1 victory at Nationals Park. The Marlins on this road trip have lost back-to-back four-game sets and still have three games remaining at Citi Field starting Tuesday.

They are a season-worst 11 games under .500 (49-60).
