New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira (left calf strain) missed his sixth consecutive game Monday, but he took batting practice and said he expects to play later this week in a key AL East series against the Orioles in Baltimore, The Star-Ledger in New Jersey reported.

"It's just tight, not sore now," Teixeira said before a 4-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays trimmed the Yankees' division lead over the Orioles to a single game. "I don't know if it will be the first game in Baltimore or one of the games after that, but I expect to be back soon."
