Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira will report to Tampa on Monday to participate in some Instructional League games as he rehabs from the strained left calf injury that has kept him sidelined for all but one game since Aug. 28.

"I don't want to put a timetable on it," Teixeira said before last night's 10-7 Yankees win over the Blue Jays at the Stadium. "But I need to test it in some real baseball situations before we can really proceed. I need to leg out an extra-base hit, maybe dive for a ball and try to beat a runner to first base. They need to see me do those types of things."

Teixeira attempted to play on Sept. 8, in Baltimore, but aggravated the calf trying to beat out a game-ending double-play ground ball to second base.
