"Marion Barber was chosen by teammates to be one of the Dallas Cowboys captains this season.

Barber is also one of the first Cowboys to be fined under the Jason Garrett regime.

Garrett, the interim head coach, has installed a dress code for players on the road, which includes coats and ties. For the trip home after playing the New York Giants, Barber wore a shirt that was not tucked in, no tie, jeans and sneakers with no socks.

According to two sources, Barber was fined an undisclosed amount, but Garrett would not confirm that and was, in fact, sensitive about the subject.

"We lay out expectations for our players for all different kinds of behavior, and there will be consequences if they don't follow those procedures," Garrett said, "and we'll keep those consequences in-house."
