"The Mariners will make a run at free-agent first baseman Prince Fielder, Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated tweeted Wednesday.

"#mariners are hoping to be in on prince (but not pujols). Unsure if there's room in budget tho. But will give it a run," Heman tweeted.

Fielder, who has spent his entire career with the Milwaukee Brewers, is thought to be looking for about $25 million per year. He turned down a 5-year, $100 million offer from the Brewers last year."
