"Last year, the Mariners skipped Felix Hernandez's final scheduled start in a Cy Young Award-winning season.
King Felix probably wishes the team had done the same Saturday for his final start of 2011.
He was spared serious injury when the Texas Rangers' Michael Young literally knocked Hernandez out of the game with a fourth-inning line drive off his right forearm.
While Seattle was losing 7-3, Hernandez had his right arm wrapped from his palm nearly to his elbow.
"It's OK. That was scary, but nothing's broke," he said. "I was trying to catch (the ball). I've been hit before, but not in my arm. Damn, it hurt!""
