Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez struck out 12 batters en route to a perfect game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.

Hernandez rung up Sean Rodriguez for the game's final out in the 1-0 victory at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Hernandez's effort is a record third perfect game in a major league season, following Phillip Humber of the Chicago White Sox and Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants.
