The best news from the Blackhawks Convention came out of Marian Hossa's mouth when he said he's symptom-free after suffering the first severe concussion of his career.

"The way I feel right now, I believe I'll be ready for [training] camp," the winger said on the first day of the convention Friday at the Hilton Chicago.

Hossa said he has been training "at a high level" for about a month, including running, biking and weight-lifting. But he still is taking a cautious path. Hossa understands things can change once he gets on the ice.

"The time will come soon when I step on the ice," Hossa said. "Everything can be different on the ice when I get the first hit or if somebody just pushes me."
