The ex-England international bowed of his first start in four weeks after 75 minutes and could be set for another spell on the sidelines.

Rio Ferdinand will undergo a scan on his injured knee today, amid fears he could be sidelined for several weeks.

Ferdinand suffered the knee injury in a clash during Manchester United's 2-1 FA Cup third round defeat to Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Former England international Ferdinand, making his first United appearance since December 10, was unable to carry on and trudged straight down the tunnel.

The 35-year-old looks set to leave United at the end of this season after 12 years at Old Trafford, following his £29.1million move from Leeds in 2002.
