Manchester United have approached Juventus over the availability of Claudio Marchisio and a ready to pay up to £20m, according to reports in Italy.

Juventus have been left in a tricky situation after being eliminated from the Champions League group stage at the hands of Galatasaray.

Their shock omission has left them with a £17m hole in their funds, as the lost TV revenue was not planned for by Juventus chiefs.

It has left the Old Lady with a decision to make: Sell one of their star players or risk falling in to financial instability.

Manchester United have now offered Juventus the chance to plug the gap in their finances by offering them £20m for midfielder Marchisio.

According to Tuttosport Juventus have already ruled out the possibility of selling Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Sebastian Giovinco, Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba leaving Marchisio with an uncertain future.
