MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting a move to sign Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.

Reports in Spain suggest that United have been impressed with Sanchez's impressive start to the season and are set to revive their interest in the player after trying to sign him from Udinese in 2011.

According to Spanish daily Sport, David Moyes will looks to sign Sanchez after becoming despondent at the performances of Antonio Valencia, Nani and Ashley Young since taking over in the summer.

Reports suggest that United will have money available in January to make as many as three big-name signings, and Sanchez would fall into that category with Barcelona thought to value the 24-year-old at £22m.

Sanchez has been in electric form for Barcelona so far this season, playing some of the best football of his career and scoring regularly for both the Catalan club and his national team.
