"If the Tigers don't re-sign outfielder Magglio Ordoñez, he will have had a seven-year career in Detroit, from 2005 through this season. He has made a mark in the club's history:
• As a Tiger, Ordoñez batted .312 with 107 home runs. According to Baseball-Reference.com, Ordoñez and Miguel Cabrera are two of the six players who for their Tigers careers have hit at least .310 and had at least 100 homers. The others are Ty Cobb (111 homers as a Tiger), Hank Greenberg (.319 as a Tiger), Harry Heilmann and Charlie Gehringer.
• Ordoñez hit the only home run in Tigers history that ended a postseason game. His three-run, ninth-inning blow off Oakland's Huston Street in Game 4 of the 2006 American League Championship Series provided the 6-3 win that put the Tigers in the World Series."
