MLB Network Radio reported Friday night that the two sides were closing in on a one-year deal, a story which usually tight-lipped president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail refuted in an e-mail to MLB.com.
"[The] report is not accurate," MacPhail said.
MacPhail and the Orioles' front office met with Guerrero's representatives earlier this winter, and with Manny Ramirez off the board, it's not out of the question that Guerrero could sign somewhere soon. The Angels also have reported interest. "
