"Running back Marshawn Lynch and middle linebacker David Hawthorne are expected to be ready when the Seahawks begins their regular season Sunday in San Francisco.

Coach Pete Carroll isn't nearly so certain about left guard Robert Gallery or wide receiver Sidney Rice, neither of whom took part in Monday's short practice.

Gallery suffered a sprained knee in Friday's exhibition finale, leaving the game in the first quarter. Carroll indicated Gallery's recovery was encouraging the first couple of days after the injury, but made no pronouncements of his availability.

"We're just going to have to see how it goes day to day," Carroll said. "We'll watch him carefully. He's hopeful that he can make it back by the weekend. We'll have to wait and see.""
