"Braves pitcher Derek Lowe will pitch Wednesday's game in Los Angeles on short rest.
Lowe was originally scheduled to pitch Friday against the Mets but had his start pushed back a day because of Friday's rain-out, and he started Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Lowe's spot comes up against on Wednesday and Jair Jurrjens, Saturday's Game 2 starter, will pitch on regular rest Thursday.
The Braves, who don't have another off day until April 28, chose to go with Lowe on three days' rest rather than call on Mike Minor from Triple-A Gwinnett or try to piece together an outing from their bullpen.
That's fine by Lowe, who indicated an extra days' rest Saturday might have cost him some sharpness.
"I'm going to throw the same, regardless, good or bad," Lowe said. "Actually I look forward to it. This extra day (before Saturday) seemed like a long time to go out.""
