Louisville junior wide receiver Devante Peete will miss the season with an unspecified injury, coach Bobby Petrino said Monday.

Peete, a former four-star recruit who at 6 feet 6 inches is U of L's tallest receiver, caught four passes for 70 yards last season and had been projected as a primary backup this season.

He also is a captain on special teams and a standout on the kick-coverage units.

"That hurts us because he was one of our leaders in special teams and was doing a great job at wide receiver," the coach said.
