3B Evan Longoria was full of good news before Wednesday night's game. He said his rehab from a partially torn left hamstring is going well, and he thinks he can rejoin the lineup in two weeks.
"It's at the point where I'm ready to push it and I'm ready to see where I can be on a daily basis," he said.
Longoria ran some accelerators in the outfield before batting practice. That and running the bases are the final hurdles he has to clear before heading to the minor leagues on a rehab assignment.
"It's taken a lot of steps forward in the last week and a half. I think right now the optimistic goal is to go out and play somewhere on the end of this road trip," he said.
