The Italian champions were hotly tipped to land the Germany international this summer, with Can still not agreeing a new contract at Anfield.

However, the Old Lady couldn't tempt Liverpool into a sale and it appeared their interest had cooled

But Juve chief Beppe Moratta has confirmed the Italian giants will wait until January to launch another bid.

"Liverpool are holding on tight to Emre Can," Marotta told Premium Sport. "His contract expires in June, [so] we'll be able to negotiate with him from January. We won't hide the fact we like him.

"But currently he is a Liverpool player, so we can only admire him from afar."
