Liverpool's chances of signing Martin Montoya have been dealt a blow, after his agent revealed the highly-rated full-back is not thinking of leaving Barcelona.

The 22-year-old defender has struggled for playing time at Camp Nou so far this season making just three league starts for Tata Martino's side.

And with his contract set to expire next summer, a number of European sides - including Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen - have been linked with a swoop.

Liverpool were believed to be ahead of the pack, and were hoping to take Montoya to Anfield next summer on a free transfer.

But the player's agent, Jose Maria Orobitg says his client is focusing solely on events in Catalunya and his immediate future.
