Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted that their discussions to bring Yevhen Konoplyanka to Anfield are becoming increasingly "complicated".

Reds managing director Ian Ayre is in Ukraine to to try and thrash out a last-minute deal for the £16m-rated winger ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline.

Rodgers has disclosed that while the club are doing all they can to try and secure the talented wide-man, he is realistic about the possibility of Konoplyanka making the switch from Dnipro.

The Northern Irishman said: "We'll see how it goes but obviously it is complicated. The staff that are over there have done brilliant work in terms of giving us every chance of getting the player.

"It has all happened very quickly and the timeline on everything always makes it tight. But we've had a list with a number of players on it and we'll see how it all develops."
