Golden Tate finally donned the University of Miami jersey he grew up wanting to wear one day. It just had somebody else's name on the back.

That somebody: Dwayne Johnson.

Yep. The Rock.

"It's a little big," Tate quipped, "but a bet's a bet and I'm a man of my word."

The Detroit Lions receiver placed a friendly wager on the Notre Dame-Miami game with Johnson, but his alma mater was smoked 41-8. And that meant he had to wear The Rock's old Miami jersey.

Best known as a professional wrestler and actor, which has made him one of the world's biggest stars, Johnson first was a defensive tackle for the Hurricanes in the early 1990s. And he won a national championship in 1991.

Tate found the jersey, name and all, on eBay. And he paid up Wednesday by sporting the jersey in the locker room a day before Detroit hosts the Minesota Vikings in a Thanksgiving showcase.

Tate went the extra mile, too, matching the jersey with green and orange Jordans, plus a white hat with an old-school Gatorade logo.
