Since the Lions face replacing both starting defensive ends -- Avril if he leaves and Vanden Bosch, who was released -- could they be looking for help there in the draft?

ESPN's Todd McShay and's Pat Kirwan have them taking BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah with the No. 5 pick in new mock drafts.

Ansah, born in Ghana, didn't take up football until 2010, but impressed scouts at BYU, the Senior Bowl and the NFL combine.

McShay writes: "I'll take Ansah over most players with a lot more experience. I think he would be a great pick for the Lions."

And's Gil Brandt writes that Ansah's "story is already amazing, given how little football experience he has; multiple Pro Bowl appearances will simply make it more so."
