"Quarterback Daunte Culpepper has not generated a touchdown in his past two starts, when the Lions have been outscored, 74-3.
After Sunday's 48-3 debacle in Baltimore, the decision to keep Culpepper in the entire game was widely criticized.
Still, coach Jim Schwartz stuck with the veteran Friday and named him the starter for Sunday's home game against Arizona. Matthew Stafford, who is nursing a left-shoulder injury, did not practice this week and was listed as doubtful for the game.
Culpepper is 0-8 as a starter for the Lions and said he is aware of the criticism over his lack of production but that he has tried to not let it affect him.
"That's football," he said. "Myself, I want to generate touchdowns and put points on the board as much as possible. But that's the NFL sometimes, and I don't really pay attention to a lot of what other people are saying. I just care what my teammates and my coaches are saying.
"Really, when it comes down to it, I know I have confidence in myself to be able to put a lot of points on the board when it's there. And when it doesn't happen, you've got to get back to the drawing board and then make it happen when you get back out there.""
