"Trouble has followed Adam "Pacman" Jones throughout his NFL career. But the talented cornerback says he's hoping to put it behind him, much like Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove, whose comeback from a drug suspension in 2008 culminated in a Super Bowl ring last season.
The Lions met with both players last week, and coach Jim Schwartz indicated Sunday at the owners' meetings that each remains a possibility to end up in Detroit.
Hargrove, a restricted free agent, visited the Lions on Wednesday, while Sheldon White, vice president of pro personnel, attended Jones' workout Friday in New Orleans along with representatives from a handful of teams.
Schwartz said Detroit is "still in the information-gathering stage" regarding Jones, who started his career playing for Schwartz when he was the defensive coordinator in Tennessee in 2005-06. Jones then was suspended for the 2007 season for multiple violations of the personal-conduct policy. And after a brief stint with Dallas in 2008, he was out of the league last season."
