Lions interested in free-agent linebacker Keith Bulluck

"Coach Jim Schwartz said Thursday that the Lions definitely would take a look at free-agent linebacker Keith Bulluck, who has registered 100 or more tackles in six of his 10 NFL seasons.

Bulluck, 33, is reportedly three weeks from being fully back from his ACL injury and will start visiting teams around mid-June, according to the NFL Network.

Schwartz was the linebackers coach in Tennessee when the Titans drafted Bulluck in the first round in 2000 out of Syracuse. Schwartz became the Titans' defensive coordinator the following season and coached Bulluck until he was named head coach in Detroit ahead of the 2009 season.

Bulluck led the Titans in tackles in six of the seven seasons Schwartz was the Titans' defensive coordinator.

"I don't know where he is physically -- what he says or what his agent is saying where he is," Schwartz said. "(But) he's a guy among others that we've had our eye on. It just throws a little bit of a monkey wrench into it because he's coming off an ACL (left knee). But he's a quality player that has played for a long time in the NFL, and when he's available there are going to be a lot of teams interested in him."

New Lions defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch is quite familiar with Bulluck, having played next to him in Tennessee the past five seasons. Vanden Bosch said he wouldn't mind offering Bulluck a friendly sales pitch to play for the Lions."
