Despite the rumors, the Detroit Lions say they aren't checking on trade options for Ndamukong Suh.

General manager Martin Mayhew, speaking to reporters in advance of Thursday's NFL draft, said trading the defensive tackle was not on the table, per the Detroit News.

Mayhew then said he hasn't had any conversations about Suh since January, when one team called, but the Lions declined to discuss the proposition.

"I did get a call from a team that had an interest," he said per MLive.com. "Offered me a box of old tube socks, and I said no thank you."

(Of course, we should point out that no GMs in the history of History have admitted publicly that they'd like to get rid of one of their most important players.)

Martin reiterated that contract talks with Suh were ongoing.
