BARCELONA have moved to end any uncertainty over Lionel Messi’s future by revealing the Argentine is already playing under the terms of his new deal.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was out of contract at the end of the season but agreed an extension to remain at the Nou Camp until 2021.

Messi has still not actually put pen-to-paper as speculation continued he was contemplating leaving Spain.

But Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has now moved to stop those rumours and revealed the 30-year-old is already bound by the terms of his new deal.

Speaking to 8TV, he said: “We will take the photo with Messi’s signature, hopefully before the end of the year, but the contract has been signed by his father, who has the power of his image rights.
