Brendan Rodgers has conceded defeat in the Premier League title race following Liverpool's late collapse at Crystal Palace.

The Reds stormed into a 3-0 lead at Selhurst Park and were eager to build on that advantage as they attempted to eat away at Manchester City's superior goal difference.

They were, however, to pay the price for defensive frailties, with Palace battling back to snatch an unlikely point.

Stalemate in the capital is enough to take Liverpool back to the top of the table, but they hold a slender one-point advantage heading into the final weekend and know City still have two more fixtures to take in.

Asked if a first top flight crown in 24 years had now eluded his side, Rodgers told Sky Sports: "Yes, I think we needed to win tonight to keep the pressure on.

"Manchester City, they have got two home games now, two tough games, but we needed to win it. I think Manchester City will go on and win their two games and they will be champions.
