It would seem as if the Lightning is preparing to make a shift in their dynamic. According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Tampa Bay Lightning has placed left wing enforcer Pierre-Cedric Labrie on waivers today.

As much as I enjoy watching him personally, the move really comes as no surprise.

The 6’3, 234 pound enforcer has suited up for a total of 13 games with the Lightning this season. In those 13 games, he has yet to score a single point. What he does have is a Minus-4 rating and about 20 penalty minutes.

I will digress that Labrie is very valuable to the team when it comes to defending a player when someone makes a move on a star player or when things tend to go sideways. When it comes to dropping the gloves, he is essentially the go-to guy; however, with so many young players looking for a spot on the main roster, there is just not room for everyone.
