"The Washington Redskins emerged from their 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles having lost starting left guard Kory Lichtensteiger to torn ligaments in his right knee, starting tight end Chris Cooley to a fractured index finger on his left hand and starting left tackle Trent Williams to a high right ankle sprain, coach Mike Shanahan said after the game.
The extent of damage to Lichtensteiger's knee and length of his recovery are not yet known, but Shanahan said: "ACL/MCL, we're not really sure right now, but he's quite sore. It doesn't look good."
Lichtensteiger was injured on Washington's fifth offensive play and had to be helped off the field. After he was tended to on the trainers table behind the bench, he was carted off to the locker room.
Cooley also needs surgery, Shanahan said."
