LenDale White doesn't regret towel stomp

"Titans running back LenDale White, linked to Terrible Towel stomping during last season's 30-10 rout of the Steelers at LP Field, said he would do it again in Pittsburgh if compelled to do so.

The Titans and Steelers open the NFL's regular season on Thursday night at Heinz Field.

"I do whatever I do at your house or my house," White said after the Titans wrapped up practice on Sunday. "Because I can buy the house I'm usually at. See what I'm saying?

"If it happens to be there, I'm going to stomp all over that (pause), man. If there's a towel in the stands, I will stomp on it. I don't care who gets mad. ... If they throw a towel at me, I'm going to kick it and stomp all over it. If they don't want their towel stomped on, keep it out my face."

White and some other Titans were televised stomping the iconic towels on the sidelines in the closing minutes of the victory, rankling Pittsburgh's massive fan base.

Washington update: Receiver Nate Washington has waited all offseason for Thursday's regular season opener against his former team, but a hamstring injury has his availability in serious doubt.

As the Titans began practicing for the Steelers on Sunday, Washington said he was limited to running on a side field and a workout in the training room.

He's not sure if he'll be able to practice this week, but he's not giving up hope of playing.

"I am very anxious and happy about the opportunity to play in Pittsburgh, but at the same time I do realize (trainers) probably know what is best. So it is a matter of trusting in them and them trusting in me,'' Washington said. "I don't know what they have planned, but they've been getting me ready and prepared.''

Washington hasn't practiced since suffering the injury on Aug. 24. He missed the last two games of the preseason.

The Titans signed Washington - a Steeler the past four seasons - to a $27 million contract in March.

"When I signed back with these guys and saw we had Pittsburgh on Sept. 10 I never imagined these types of things would happen,'' he said. "The best thing that I could do right now is just stay high-spirited and no matter what happens - if or if I can't go - just be there with my teammates."
