Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vinny Lecavalier will play against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night, two days after getting hit in the eye with a stick.

Lecavalier began Tuesday's morning skate wearing a tinted visor, but switched to a clear visor he is required to wear for the remaining three regular-season games.

"I felt pretty good and it's been getting better and better every day,'' Lecavalier said. "I think from the first night through (Monday) night was a huge improvement and to (Tuesday) morning, too.

"It's not 100 percent, but even from hour to hour it improves.''

After seeing an eye doctor on Monday's off-day for the team, Lecavalier was diagnosed with a contusion to the eye. He does not have any corneal damage. He wore sunglasses on Monday because a change in lighting bothered him and, for that reason, thought a tinted visor would be best.
