Vinny Lecavalier is happy to be traveling with the team and even though he didn't play in Monday's game against the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center, the Lightning captain is encouraged by his progress.

Lecavalier has missed 17 games since suffering a fractured right hand on Feb. 18 against Washington.

He won't say when he will play but it's possible it could come on this three-game road trip, which includes a game at Boston tonight and in New Jersey on Thursday.

"I am on the trip so obviously I do want to play but we don't know when," Lecavalier said after participating in the morning skate. "It depends on how I react to what I did (Monday). It felt really good (Monday), probably the best so far."
