Less than a year ago Bucks center Larry Sanders was playing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, trying to show he belonged in the league.

This summer it appears Sanders will be back in Las Vegas, but this time as an invited player for a USA Basketball Select Team camp. About 25 players will be invited to the camp, scheduled for July 22-25, and Sanders sent out a Twitter message that he was among them.

"Just found out I got selected to work out/try out for the USA Basketball Team this summer!" Sanders tweeted. "Such an amazing honor. Glory be to God."

It's quite a transformation for Sanders, who became the Bucks starting center last season and finished a strong third in the league's most improved player voting.

This is an off year for USA Basketball after the U.S. won the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics. A news conference is scheduled for Thursday in Durham, N.C., to announce that Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will return as U.S. coach for the next cycle featuring the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
