"So LaMarcus Aldridge is an All-Star. And he deserves it. Maybe you've heard that his mother wanted this honor so badly for her son, and was so disappointed that he was snubbed last year that she threatened to write a letter to NBA commissioner David Stern.

The cry for justice this year needs to be delivered to One Center Court.

Aldridge has soft hands, and a great outside shot, and good health. He has great feet and runs incredibly well for a 6-foot-11 power forward. He has a $60 million contract. He even has a cool "LA" head-phone marketing campaign that the Blazers designed to promote him for the All-Star honor.

What he doesn't have is a sidekick. And if his mother wants to join the rest of us in pointing out a glaring injustice, it's that the Blazers are wasting Aldridge's talent. He's an All-Star, great. Now, can someone please get him a point guard? Someone to get him the ball? Someone capable and unafraid to create or take a shot at the end of a game?

Totally acceptable that Aldridge is asked to carry the Blazers. He's the new Blazers superhero. But it's unacceptable that he's been left out there, with a disorganized and incongruent pack of expiring contracts, without a sidekick."
